Officially... Mohamed Wahbi has been appointed as the new coach of the Moroccan national football team✍️👇👇👇

The president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Fouzi Lekjaa, announced this Thursday evening in Salé the appointment of national technical director Mohamed Wahbi as the new coach of the Moroccan national team, succeeding Walid Regragui.

During a press conference held at the conference hall of the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maâmoura, Salé, Lekjaa expressed his wishes for success to coach Wahbi in his new mission.

After winning the Under-20 World Cup title with the national team for the first time in its history, Wahbi takes over the technical management of the Atlas Lions, a few months before the start of the 2026 World Cup finals.

Wahbi will begin his journey with the first national team with two friendly matches against Ecuador in Spain (March 27) and Paraguay (March 31).

The draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup placed the Moroccan national team in Group C alongside Brazil, Scotland and Haiti.
